چکیده

Features representing information of High Pressure Points from a static image of a handwritten signature are analyzed for an offline verification system. From grayscale images, a new approach for High Pressure threshold estimation is proposed. Two images, one containing the High Pressure Points extracted and other with a binary version of the original signature, are transformed to polar coordinates where a pixel density ratio between them is calculated. Polar space had been divided into angular and radial segments, which permit a local analysis of the high pressure distribution. Finally two vectors containing the density distribution ratio are calculated for nearest and farthest points from geometric center of the original signature image. Experiments were carried out using a database containing signature from 160 individual. The robustness of the analyzed system for simple forgeries is tested out with KNN and PNN standard models. For the sake of completeness, a comparison of the results obtained by the proposed approach with similar works published is presented.

Off-line Chinese signature verification based on support vector machines

This paper proposes a novel off-line Chinese signature verification method based on support vector machines. The method uses both static features and dynamic features. The static features include moment features and 16-direction distribution (an improvement on 4-direction distribution). The dynamic features include gray distribution and stroke width distribution. At last, support vector machine...

Optimizing Handwritten Signature Verification

Signature recognition is probably the oldest biometrical identification method, with a high legal acceptance. Verification can be performed either Offline or Online based on the application. Online systems use dynamic information of a signature captured at the time the signature is made. Offline systems work on the scanned image of a signature. We have worked on the Offline Verification of sign...

On-line Signature Biometrics using Support Vector Machine

Handwritten signature has long been established as the most diffuse mean for personal verification in our daily life. It is commonly, in general, in all kind of legal documents and transactions. Therefore, within all biometric modalities, signature is probably the widest accepted. On the other hand, signature is a behavioural characteristic of individuals, and therefore is considered being weak...

Signature Verification using Integrated Classifiers

This paper presents a new approach for off-line signature verification. The proposed system is based on global, grid, ink distribution and texture features. The Boosting algorithm is applied to train and integrate multiple classifiers, and the distance-based classifier used as the base classifier corresponding to each feature set. Adaptive threshold is associated with individuality. Experimenta...

Off-line Signature Verification by Matching With a 3-D Reference Knowledge Image: from Research to Actual Application

This paper introduces a method for off-line verification of signatures. The method can verify signatures and detect skilled forgeries with outstanding performance. It is based on matching the questioned signature with a 3-D Reference Knowledge Image (RKI) using Ammar Matching Technique (AMT). The AMT which was developed and modified through the years (1989-2010) is introduced in detail, and the...
